One of the most anticipated lists of Forbes is released and once again it showed the power of women in this men’s world.
Forbes list of world’s 100 most powerful women of 2012 is issued and it is again topped by German Chancellor Angela Merkel for second year in a row. Merkel is known for her robust presiding to preserve the European Union.
In the list she is followed by United States Secretary Hillary Clinton and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff for the second time for position no 2 and 3.
The list of 100 power brokers is dominated by policymakers, businesswomen, technocrats and media figures. They are ranked according to their influence, media presence, popularity and how much money they control or earn.
Along with the names like Melinda Gates, co-chair of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Jill Abramson, executive editor of the New York Times, Sonia Gandhi, president of the Indian National Congress and Michelle Obama, first Lady of the United States, the list also includes women from entertainment world.
It has Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Angelina Jolie, and Ellen DeGeneres to name a few entertainment celebrities in the list.
Though 21 women fell off the list this year, former French cabinet minister Christine Lagarde has been on the list since it started in 2004. The managing director of International Monetary Fund is at number eight.
These women have proved their abilities time again. Like the precious gemstones, they are strong, brilliant, energetic and full of life and add beauty to their surroundings.
